Customer Experience Flow & SMS Opt-In Process

Shortcut Reviews helps service businesses collect customer reviews via SMS. The entire process is built on verbal, in-person consent and takes approximately 15 seconds for the customer.

Step 1: Service Completed A technician or service professional completes the job for the customer on-site. This includes standard service interactions such as plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, and similar trades.

Step 2: Verbal Opt-In Request The technician asks the customer: "Would you like to leave us a quick review? I can text you a link right now." Consent is given verbally and in-person before any message is sent.

Step 3: Customer Says Yes The customer verbally agrees and provides or confirms their phone number. If the customer declines, no message is sent and the process stops here.

Step 4: Business Initiates Review Request The subscribing business triggers a single review request through the Shortcut Reviews platform. One request per customer, per service interaction. No bulk messaging.

Step 5: Customer Receives SMS The customer receives one text message with a short link to leave a review. Sample message: "Thanks for choosing [Business Name]! We'd love your feedback. It only takes 15 seconds: [link]. Reply STOP to opt out."

Step 6: Customer Leaves Review The customer taps the link, lands on a simple review page, and submits feedback in approximately 15 seconds. No app download, no login, no account creation required.

Compliance Summary Consent type: Verbal, in-person, collected before any SMS is sent. Message frequency: One (1) message per customer, per service interaction. Opt-out: Every message includes "Reply STOP to opt out." No bulk or marketing messages are ever sent.
